Co-Parenting After Divorce

Amicable Divorce - Co-Parent SuccessfullyIf you are a parent going through a separation or considering divorce, you are likely to be worried about the effects of divorce on children. The most difficult issue during a divorce is how to continue parenting your children together.

As part of my amicable divorce service, I will help you to come to sensible arrangements about how to co-parent your children. An amicable divorce is focused on the family – not just the divorcing couple. When I take on client’s I take the family on, I may never see the children but they are not far from my mind when I guide my clients through their situation.

Once you agree to your arrangements, I will help you to write up a parenting plan so that you both know what to expect from each other. I can also help you to make the agreement into a legally binding court order.

What My Clients Say:

“Very professional quick response, with very high standards.” Mrs Elkame

I have recommended Sonia to many friends – who have been equally satisfied with the service they have received. A very caring outlook to her clients. Thank you very much for your help.” Bandana, Liverpool

Parenting Plan

Children During Divorce - Parenting PlanA parenting plan is an agreement between you both about how you are going to care for your children during and after the divorce.

When people are deciding how they are going to manage the children and exist as two separate families, the parenting plan can serve as a guide. It helps you to focus on the things that matter to you the most. Some couples simply want to have contact arrangements to be a part of the plan, whereas others will want a very detailed plan including the children’s dietary requirements and religious beliefs etc. That’s the point of a parenting plan, it gives you time to reflect on what is important for the children and how their needs can be best served.

It is important to remember that a parenting plan is not legally binding. But that’s not a bad thing. It means that you can alter it as and when your circumstances change. The plan evolves with you and gets you to discuss the children at each point that something in their life changes.

I recommend that parenting plans are reviewed regularly so that you know where you both stand. More importantly, your children know where they stand.
